Where the $ Goes

30 Years of Third Goal

For 30 years, the International Calendar has been the backbone of the Madison RPCV group's "Third Goal" work—to help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans. Fabulous photos and useful facts work together to bring understanding and, we hope, appreciation of other peoples.

The first calendar was created for an RPCV conference held in Madison in 1987. Many people have contributed time and effort over these 30 years, and many projects promoting peace and well-being have been funded from calendar sales. Madison's RPCVs have provided more than $1,200,000 to such projects, and RPCV groups around the country sell calendars to support other good works.

Funded projects are diverse: recycling in Mongolia, permaculture in Ghana, an orphanage in Ukraine, clinics in Nicaragua, food security in Nepal, library projects in Tanzania and Armenia, women's empowerment in Togo, schools in Cambodia, water projects in Vanuatu. Here are a few photos of the many projects funded, thanks to your support of the calendar and all that it represents.
