Burkina Faso

Two men approach each other on bicycles. They have other places to go but still find time to stop and shake hands, not once, but nearly a dozen times as they inquire about the health and happiness of each other’s family. Handshaking is more than a superficial greeting in Burkina Faso. It reflects the deep cultural belief that strong bonds of friendship and family take precedence over all else.
